How to Attach a Warming Rack to My BBQ Grillthumbnail Universal racks work well for grills that don’t support glide racks.
A BBQ grill warming rack sits above the cooking rack and serves as an area to keep cooked food warm. Some people also use the rack as a safe haven for food that’s cooking too fast. If your grill didn’t come with a warming rack, or if you lost it, numerous replacements exist. You’ll likely have to use either a glide rack or a universal rack, depending on the type of grill you own.

To Attach a Warming Rack to My BBQ Grill Instructions:
- Determine the type of rack you need. Open your grill and look for two small holes at the bottom of the grill. These holes allow for the use of a glide rack, which has two legs that slide into either hole. Measure the inside of your grill to determine the size of the glide rack you need. If you do not see these holes, you will need a universal rack.
- Line up the legs of the glide rack with the premade holes in your grill. Insert the legs into the holes to secure the rack in place. If you have a universal rack, lay it on top of the cooking grate, toward the back of the grill.
- Close the grill lid. If the lid fully shuts, the warming rack is correctly attached. If it does not, reposition the warming rack.
