  • Determine your surroundings. If it is not possible to be alone in your surroundings then leave the area and find a quiet place undisturbed by other organisms. Such places include the forest, your own room, or a quiet outdoor park.
  • Free yourself from distractions, such as electronic communication devices. (Cellphone, etc.) You may wish to keep an iPod or other music playing device with you in order to block out noise if you cannot find a quiet enough area.
  • Start your activity. Whether you have chosen to be alone in order to have time to yourself to think or to finish reading a novel, this is the perfect time to get it done. Enjoy!

  • This is a good way to relax, so wear comfortable clothing and don’t try to impress anyone. There won’t be anyone to impress!

  • Don’t stay alone too long. We all need people. If there is some activity needing you to be alone for long time, it is best to inform your friends about it. You can’t disappear suddenly, emerge out of blue later and think people will throw their arms around you.
